Snow
Most of the region has already been hit with "significant" snow (2+ inches: enough to wreak havoc in a regime where snow is a relative rarity and where we have little equipment to deal with it -- for all of you who live in the sort of wintry climes I once did). At home we escaped it for a couple of days... until this evening when we already have 2+ inches collected and it is piling up fast.
Nice to see, but I hope the power stays on...

Our neighbors got stuck on the hill in our cul de sac this evening. Snow shovel in hand, I went out to help. Good thing - they needed another set of hands. Snow is beautiful when it falls and quiets things down, but it can also be deadly for those who are not used to it.

I didn't know your area of Washington ever got snow. As one who sees us in Alabama get paralyzed sometimes by two inches of snow, I feel your pain!
Stay warm--

Will, we get snow once or twice a winter but usually under warming situations where it's gone within hours to a day. Once in a long while we get it along with a cold snap that lets it linger (as it's doing now) -- and like any locale where it's rare, we can't justify the road-clearing equipment to keep us going all the time. (Two inches in Seattle paralyzes us too.)
For my part, I learned that my little 4WD vehicle lost its 4WD capability (goes into the shop tomorrow) -- an annoyance that it can't climb the slippery road up to the house and has to be parked down a ways.
So far, at least, we have power (electricity), which usually goes out in these situations.
And fortunately Fr. Daniel lives in lower elevations rather close to the church -- and power.
I didn't make it to tonight's class on C.S. Lewis and the Psalms. I hope others did.
