Local Hero

Among our visitors this morning were a couple clearly known to Joanne (who is improving greatly), but we didn't know the connection until the announcements, when Fr. McGrath issued a welcome to our visitors and especially to Danny. It turns out that it was Danny, the Fed-Ex driver delivering a package, whose quick thinking and fast action saved Joanne's life last winter!

Now when I was growing up applause during an Anglican church service was considered unseemly, and even now I tend to be reticent about same -- but this was clearly an exceptional situation and so the applause went on for a long, long time (for Anglicans).

Danny, we are all very grateful to you, and may God bless you richly!

It is no surprise to me that Danny would help another person in trouble. He is just that kind of wonderful, warm, caring and giving person! Although we now live very far apart, and seldom see each other, we grew up in the same "town" in San Diego, CA, went to the same high school, and shared a lot of the same friends. It was/is a good time to look back upon!! In fact it was I who set him up with my close girlfriend (since 8th grade), Marla .... and "Whallaaa!" the rest is history --- she is still his beautiful wife, and they are an awesome couple!! Two terrific friends, and I am glad to have a chance to brag about them too!! I am very proud to hear about his life-saving heroism, and am sure that Joanne will enjoy a wonderful friendship with Danny and Marla! Luv in Christ, Kim (Kewley) Goodfellow
