Instructed Eucharist

Yesterday as the last element of the Catechism Class, Fr. Daniel conducted an instructed Eucharist at the 10:00, apparenyly with an almost-packed house (will it be standing-roon only next week, when the Bishop is here?).

I missed it, because I was on final approach into Atlanta at the time. Perhaps somebody who was there could fill us in?

You have probably heard the old joke about the Bishop arriving to a very sparse turnout. After the service, he asks the rector whether he told them he was coming. The rector responds, "No, but it looks as if they found out somehow."

The instructed Holy Communion was nice.

Fr. McGrath spent ten minutes or so prior to the Collect for Purity describing the "Ministry of the Word," and then in lieu of a sermon he spent another ten minutes or so describing the "Ministry of the Sacrament."

I think much of the instruction came from the catechism supplement he produced (itself a very nice piece of work).
